Continue your journey to Bodh Gaya, also known as the Mahabodhi Temple, the birthplace of Buddhism. It is the site where Prince Siddhartha attained supreme enlightenment, becoming the Perfect Buddha. This place was established over 2,500 years ago. After the Buddha's enlightenment, he resided there for seven weeks, enjoying the bliss of liberation. Rajagriha • Weluvan Temple • Mount Khitchakut • King Bimbisara's Prison • Nalanda University • Bodh Gaya

Morning: Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
Then, depart for Rajagriha, the capital of Magadha. During the Buddha's time, the city was surrounded by five large mountains, also known as "Benchagiri City." Continue your journey to Venuvan Vihara (also known as Weluvan Kalandakanivapasthan), meaning "Bamboo Grove Temple." It was the first Buddhist monastery located near the base of Mount Vebhara on the banks of the Saraswati River, home to the Tapodharam (an ancient hot spring). This temple was also the site where the Buddha delivered his sermon to 1,250 disciples. The ruins of this ancient site, nestled in a shady bamboo grove, remain today.
Continue your journey to Mount Khitchakut (Girdhkut Cave), a 2-hour journey that takes you to a sloping mountain and a wide open space. A notable highlight is the highest point on the mountaintop, the Kanthakuti, a square brick ruin that served as the residence of the Buddha before his nirvana. It also houses several other monks' residences. It is a tranquil and peaceful place, providing a spiritual refuge for those who come to pay their respects and ascend Khao Khitchakut.
Next, we will visit the Bimbisara Jail, a significant site in Buddhist history. It features the remains of a six-foot-high wall surrounding the area. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Kanthakuti on top of Khao Khitchakut.
Lunch will be served at the hotel.
We will then proceed to Nalanda University, the world's first Buddhist university. Built during the reign of King Ashoka, it served as a place of learning for Buddhist monks. It taught a wide variety of subjects, including Buddhist philosophy, the Tripitaka, literature, and medicine. Many monks from abroad visited the university, but by 1742, Nalanda University was initially thought to be a large fortress. The temple was destroyed by Turkish Muslim soldiers, resulting in the burning of all religious scriptures.
Then, we will travel to Bodh Gaya.
In the evening, dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.
Accommodation: DHAMMA/MAHABODHI or equivalent, a 4-star hotel in Bodh Gaya, Indian standard.
