Somdet Phra Maha Chakkraphat and King Sai Setthathirat agreed to join forces to fight Burma. They made a pledge not to encroach on each other's territories. And to commemorate the friendship, they jointly built Phra That Si Song Rak as a witness at the halfway point between the Nan River and the Mekong River, which is the border of the two kingdoms.
