Tour Itinerary
  • Monday
After breakfast, we will have a group meeting which includes, registration, explanation of programs and changes, logistics, general information and health and safety. If you don’t participate in this program, you will miss this information. After that we will walk around Tha Kham village to get you familiarized with your new surroundings. Afterwards, we’ll head to Singburi town center for essential shopping (you’ll be able to exchange money here, buy essential things you might need during your stay, purchase a sim card, etc). We will then have lunch at a fishing park restaurant.
Next, we will pay a visit to Wat Phikun Thong, a buddhist temple where you will get a short introduction to Buddhist rituals.
Once back at the accommodation, you will get a Thai language lesson and you will also learn about the do’s and dont’s in Thailand. After dinner, you will be the special guests of a welcome party with local children performing a Thai traditional dance for us - they will expect you to join in with the dancing at some point!
  • Tuesday
After breakfast, we will visit Wat Muang in Ang Thong, which is home to the tallest Buddha statue in Thailand and the 9th in the world. Afterwards, we will head to the Historic City of Ayutthaya, which was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong. Once there, we will explore Ayutthaya Historical Park, which contains the ruins of the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam and is recognized internationally as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll end the day with dinner next to one of the many canals of the city.
  • Wednesday
It’s do-it-yourself day! After breakfast, we will go to a handicraft shop where you will create your own bracelet. You will also have some time to send letters of souvenirs back home as the shop is located right next to the post office. Next up in our schedule is a cooking lesson (pay close attention and follow instructions as the result will be your lunch!). After lunch, there will be free time in Singburi to explore the town on your own. In the evening, we will have dinner at a BBQ restaurant (Thai style, of course!)
  • Thursday
In the morning, we’ll visit a school, meet the children and you will try your hand at some teaching or just a few games. (Note: During school holidays (from mid-March to mid-May and in October), we may visit an English Camp set up for the children). After this, we’ll visit some of the beautiful and famous monuments and Buddhist temples near our centre: Wat Phra Non Jaksi Woravihan (a huge reclining Buddha image) and the Khai Bang Rachan hero monument. To end it, we’ll visit the shopping mall, where you can treat yourself with western food.
  • Friday
Another full day to several sightseeing locations within Saraburi and Lopburi provinces! We’ll visit Wat Phra Phutthabat in Saraburi, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Thailand and famous for a natural depression that is believed to be the footprint of the Buddha.
After lunch, our next stop will be the Monkey Temple in Lopburi, where crab-eating macaques love to hang out and will not be afraid to jump on your head or try to steal your sunglasses. We’ll then head back to the accommodation in Singburi where we will have dinner.
