This volcano erupted and sank into the ground in a matter of minutes in 662 AD. Tens of thousands of people were buried alive in agony, with no chance of escaping. Pompeii was forgotten from the world’s memory. Later, the study of ancient history called Pompeii was revived, but no one knew where it was until 1748 AD when traces of the city’s ruins were discovered. When all the soil was removed, the remains of a large city were found, built of strong stones. In some places, “the remains of a Pompeian and his pets who had turned to stone were found, still in their original condition.” However, the image clearly shows the fear of death. Some people sat with their hands covering their faces, some sat against the walls of their houses, dead. Pompeii is therefore called the “Ruins of the Dead.”

It is a square full of colorful shops lined up along both sides of the street that is known as the famous shopping street of Sorrento. You can also see the way of life of the locals who like to sit and drink coffee or come to talk and socialize in restaurants.
