In July 2013, the company reportedly had the second oldest fleet of an airline based in Europe, with an average of 20.5 years. This consisted mainly of used aircraft acquired or leased from other companies.However, the company declared that it has been and will be retiring its Boeing 737 Classic aircraft, in exchange for the brand new Boeing 737 MAX models ordered, and that due to this process it will no longer extend its fleet.

Blue Air operated in December 2004 which offered operated domestic and international flights then domestic services were discontinued because of low sales and high competition.The airline resumed domestic operations in 2015 with Bucharest-Iasi flights, followed by further routes in 2016.
